KIKO to Auction Original Star Trek Shuttlecraft

Wednesday - November 30, -0001

During the StarTrek Enterprise mission of exploring strange new worlds and seeking out new life and civilizations, a special shuttlecraft was used--the shuttlecraft, Galileo.  KIKO Auctioneers of Canton, Ohio is proud to be auctioning the original TV prop, Shuttlecraft Galileo from Star Trek, at absolute auction online starting June 18, 2012.

The Galileo prop first debuted in 1967 for the first season of the Star Trek TV series, in an episode entitled “The Galileo Seven.”  The shuttlecraft Galileo prop, known to many Trekkies as NCC-1701/7 and later as Galileo II, appeared in eight episodes. The shuttlecraft was used for transportation from the Star Trek’s USS Enterprise when using the “transporter” wasn’t possible due to distance or dense matter. The Galileo shuttlecraft is the largest prop from the Star Trek TV Series, measuring 24 ft. long x 9 ft. wide in front x14 ft. wide in back x 9 ft tall.

Since the Galileo’s début, it has traveled through “space” in the Star Trek series, as well as across the United States.  The Galileo shuttlecraft prop sat on the movie lot for years after the Star Trek TV Series was cancelled and fell into disrepair.  The second owner did minor restoration work and displayed the shuttlecraft Galileo prop at several events.  The current owner purchased the prop and the prop was then moved using a special oversized trailer from Hollywood, CA back to Ohio for restoration.  The restoration is about 40% complete at this time.

Brooks Ames, auctioneer, stated, “ We are excited to be offering this unique Galileo Shuttlecraft prop to the world to bid on!  The auction will be conducted live online from June 18, 2012 – Thursday, June 28, 2012 at I invite anyone who has ever wanted to own a unique piece of TV and/or Star Trek history to join us and bid!”
