A History of Helping People find the Perfect Home

richard_1.jpg (6039 bytes) The Richard T. Kiko Agency was established in 1970 by Richard Thomas Kiko, Sr. Dick's love for the Absolute Auction method of marketing, instilled by his father, Russ Kiko, was the motivation that led him to the Missouri School of Auctioneering in 1958, where he earned the designation of Auction Colonel that same year.

In 1958, Dick purchased Globe Auction Company, which was founded by his father. For the next 10 years he and his wife, Pat, operated the auction house in Canton, Ohio.

Richard acquired his Ohio Real Estate Sales License in 1961 and his Real Estate Broker's License in 1969. He opened Richard T. Kiko Agency, Inc. in 1970.

The company was originally located in the Citizens Savings Bank building of Central Plaza South, serving his father, brothers and family. RT Kiko Agency now has two active divisions:

The other division provides complete real estate services to customers throughout Northeastern Ohio. This division is managed by Lori Kiko, the 1997 International Auctioneer Champion - Womens' Division.

Dick has been an active member and contributor to many auction and real estate organizations:
  • In 1974, Dick was President of the Ohio Auctioneer Association (OAA).
  • He was director of the OAA for six years.
  • Dick served the State of Ohio as Auctioneer Commissioner for three years.
  • He served on the National Auctioneer Association (NAA) Board for three years and is currently serving a 6 year term on the NAA Foundation Board.
  • He was inducted in to the Ohio Auctioneer Association's Ohio Auctioneers Hall of Fame in 1990.
  • At the National Auctioneers Association Convention in 1997, he was inducted into the NAA Hall of Fame for his service to the Auction Method of Marketing.
