
On Saturday, July 16, 2011 the chant of KIKO Classic Car Auctioneers filled the Canfield Fairgrounds at the Dave & Ed’s Summer Auto Event as KIKO auctioned off Classic Vehicles 26 years and older to several hundred bidders.
The KIKO Summer Classic Collector Vehicle Auction offered bidders a variety of vehicles everything from a 1924 Ford T-Bucket Truck, 1946 Chrysler Windsor, 1949 Ford F-1, 1971 Honda CB350 motorcycle, 1976 Cadillac Seville Custom Opera Coupe, and a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner. This year’s auction also offered a number of project vehicles that were in varying degrees of restoration this included everything from a 1974 VW Bug to a 1957 Chevy Bel Air. Bruce Peoples, KIKO’s Classic Car Specialist, stated, “Offering project vehicles to those who are looking for winter projects was a nice addition to our auction.”
The auction began with memorabilia offering everything from oil cans, signs, oilers and a Sinclair gas pump that sold for $1,980. Then the vehicles started up and drove across the block. Highlights of the auction were the the 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner that sold for $23,320.00; 1969 Chevrolet Camaro that sold for $20,790; and the 1924 T-Bucket that sold for $12,265.00. Peoples stated, “Several of our sellers have already discussed putting cars in our next auction.”
KIKO’s next Classic Car Auction will be held Saturday, September 10, 2011 in conjunction with Sandusky’s three day classic car event, Crusin’ on the Bay. This auction will benefit the North Coast Cancer Foundation. KIKO’s marketing manager, Heather Marks, stated, “We are excited to partner with Cruisin’ on the Bay for our Fall Auction and to help out such a great cause. Cruisin’ on the Bay is one of my favorite shows and coupling the auction with the events on Friday & Saturday will make for a wonderful weekend at the bay!
